Tofu Turkey

Ever had a tofurkey? They are a vegetarian loaf that supposedly tastes as much like regular turkey as one can get. Well I beg to differ, to this vegetarian it tastes like a salt lick. Which is why when we were invited to a colleagues house on Thanksgiving I knew there was one dish I would not be bringing. However, I discovered something called Tofu Turkey. This was quite simply tofu, pressed into the shape of a turkey and covered in a tamari glaze. Seems hard to mess up, and it is! I roasted it with some radishes, potatoes, and fennel and took it along. When you see it, it has a cartoonish appearance, I'm pretty sure they make these things using a jello mold... but it tastes good, like tofu, and that's ok by me! I feel pretty strongly that meat should be the only that that tries to taste like meat.
