Sunday night Greg and I went to "The Lot" to watch the Perseids meteor shower. We arrived earlier in the evening to enjoy our time on the Shenendoah. The water looks brownish, but it was actually fairly clear.

Greg posing as we unload the truck. You'd think we were camping for a week with all the stuff we brought. We didn't even stay overnight...

We played frisbe for awhile after our swim. How's that for an action shot! And taken with a camera phone no less.
Greg made a nice fire, where we cooked our food later in the night. It was such a beautiful evening out, wish we'd had more time there.

After dinner we played cards until it got too dark to see and then laid out and watched the meteors. We didn't see a whole lot of them because clouds kept passing through, but we saw a few. Then we went home. Originally we were going to camp out but Heather decided she wanted to sleep on her tempurpedic bed on a work night. Getting soft in her old age...

Yeah, that's right, I was in Boston this week!! My blog is titled in honor of the Bostonian toll attendant who gave seven dollars in change with said quote. Ah, it was good to be home, even if I was there for less then 24 hours. So on my first business trip in my new job I flew to Boston and then to Chicago. I was observing some mediation training.
In Boston I stayed in Cambridge, and I wish I'd had more time there. Gorgeous hotel, gorgeous neighborhood. A few pics of the hotel The Inn at Harvard Square:

One of the best things about my trip was that I had the chance to see Mechelle and her new baby girl Felicia. She happened to be shopping one town over from the training--what are the chances??? Here's a picture of Felicia:

Blow those bubbles, baby girl!!! And a lousy attempt at me trying to get a picture of the three of us, but hey, I got all our heads in the frame, so that's what really counts:

In Chicago I got to see a little bit of the city from the car. Here's a picture taken while driving, and then a fuzzy shot of the gorgeous skyline along Lake Michigan (and yes, the blonde blur is me):

That diamond shape building towards the right was in Adventures in Babysitting. Yeah, I still remember that movie (and I even enjoy watching it shhhh).
So after work on Tuesday I was able to attend the Democratic Forum that the AFL-CIO sponsored at Soldier's Field. My coworker's brother secured the tickets and oh my gosh were the seats great! We were on the 10 yard line, literally second row back from the stage. Close enough I could see the death glance that Obama gave one of his more critical opponents during the commercial break. Now that's fun politics. Here are a few pictures:

My room was third floor, first and second windows from the left. I could see right down into the atrium. Below is the place I went to for the training. It's this gorgeous old mansion called the Endicott Estate. Weather wise it was a pretty crappy day so I only got this one shot figuring pictures on their website would be better (I was right).

That's all for now!!
