The Eastern Shore in August

I love the simplicity of the Eastern Shore in August.

Greg relaxing on the beach.

Wild ponies roam the beaches of Assateague Island. You have to be careful not to leave food out or they'll step all over your blankets and steal it. Not to mention they aren't exactly potty trained...

An eastern shore farms stand--I love it! We bought a few things here to take home.

A pony in the marshes of Assateague. It's hard to see from here, but the birds were literally sitting on it's back.

We watched this one graze as we waited to enter the park area of Assateague. I can't wait to go back!

Getting to see old friends

I was lucky enough to get to see some old family friends when I was in Ocean City a few weeks ago. Here's a few pictures.
The newest addition, Eric, is already smitten with technology!

Scott and his daughter Alexis both share the bad photography gene LOL. I wonder if Greg is secretely related to them?

Siblings don't always fight. Lauren and Eric get along very well.

Proud papa Eddie! Ah I remember when we were but wee ones running around the neighborhood talking about Star Trek--what, I was a fan! What?!

Us! :)

Marge and Jerry, good friends for a very long time! In the summers in college they would drive down every weekend and pick me up and take me home with them, and then drop me back off Sunday night. Angels!

The birthday girl poses with hubby Joel.

Blowing out the one candle. Isn't it rough to get to an age where they don't even try to put out enough candles? You just get that one obligatory solo candle... In any case, it was wonderful to see them again, and to be a part of Maria's birthday celebration!

Peedee and Mark's 70th Birthday--The Party

We celebrated Peedee and Mark's 70th birthday at the Yacht Club. We had a view of the bay, a yummy dinner, and family all around.

The three neices nosh together. Truthfully they did a lot together--three peas in a pod!

Greg, Johnny, Steve and Kenny smile for the camera.

Cousin Ken and his fiance. They have a fall wedding in St. Lucia planned--heavenly!

Decisions decisions at the kids' table.

Me and Greg in an "artistic" shot that made me laugh so much I had to include it.

Peedee and Mark blowing out the candles. I'm not sure there's actually 70 on that cake, I think the staff was being kind when they set that up...

Peedee reading a card, she seemed to cherish each one!

Mark holds up his gift from Chris--a caricature of he and Peedee to commemorate the trip.

Greg reads instructions on how to set up Peedee's new dvd player. No really, he READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Shhh, don't tell anyone, it'll ruin his street cred.

Steve hooks up the player with Greg's directions. Notice the Barney Miller dvd playing!

The three peas in a pod play a puzzle together.

An aerial view of the kids playing.

And lastly a video of a few toasts/speeches at the celebration dinner. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PEEDEE AND MARK!

Peedee and Mark's 70th Birthday--Beach and Crabs

We were lucky to be able to spend so much time with our San Fran family. Here are a few pics of us out doing the Maryland thing and picking crabs, as well as hanging out at the beach (all 30 of us!)

Aunt Judy and Uncle Mark showing off their dinner. They caught on fast to the best way to pick crabs.

A table view of us enjoying our meal together.

The waitress covered me in bibs, I literally had 4 on! Hey, if it's worth doing, it's worth getting messy for.

Dylan shows Greg a thing or two about playing frisbee on our smoggy beach day.

Greg tries to explain to Dylan how they are related. He tried three times before giving up.

Sharon's such a good mom she came prepared with sanwich makings for the boys, and anyone else who happened to be hungry.

Some of the group hanging out on the beach.

Playing under the umbrellas where the sand wasn't as hot.

The kids (and Kenny!) playing some volleyball.

The kids (and Greg!) playing frisbee by the surf until the lifeguards stopped them.

Playing in the surf.

Todd is an excellent boogie border.

Karen, Ken and Stephanie hanging out by the surf.

Pete pulls the two youngest on the boogie board. Wish they had that ride for adults!

Me and my old man!

Thank goodness Otto is ok!

So last week someone went through a bit of trouble to throw a bag of garbage in our yard. We don't know what was originally in it, only what was in it after the dogs had a go at it. Long story short dogs were extreemly sick; Otto spent 3 days hospitalized. So I know I just did a dog post recently, but humor me as I put up a few pictures of the dogs to celebrate them being ok!

I bought the dogs two very real looking squirrel toys. The way Otto has declared war on all squirrels I knew it would make his day. He is perplexed, not knowing which to pick!

Surpisingly he goes for the flying squirrel. He did a smell check, nope, not real!

The squeaker in the tail was his target.

And a picture of Kolohe to prove she was there, too! Otto wouldn't let her near the toys so she watched pretending not to care.
