Heather's Trip to Maine

The last weekend in March I took a trip up to Maine for a Radiant Recovery retreat. I flew into Manchester, NH and then drove with some friends up to Kennebunkport. An unexpected snowstorm blew in and covered everything in gorgeous fluffy white snow.

Here is a shot taken from the car while driving. So pretty!
Of course, since it was an unexpected storm the roads were treated like they normally are and our rental car bore the brunt of that. We were only two miles out when this happened Don't worry, I wasn't driving.
What trip to Maine is complete without lobstah! We all gathered in the garage (for ease of clean up) and enjoy giant 2 pounders.
Me in about 12 layers keeping warm in the garage. And, the lobster's last wave.

I went running one morning on the beach with one of a friend's dog, Pepper. Well she decided that running with me was holding her back (she was literally running circles around me), so I took her off the leash and she went swimming instead. Show off. I have no idea how cold the water was, but the air temp was in the 20's. All kidding aside it really was a gorgeous site to see her swimming at sunrise on the beach. She is quite the athlete.

More of the beach at sunrise. It was cold that morning, parts of the beach had ice on it, and I distinctly remember running across crunching seaweed that had frozen on the beach.

Abby and Cassidy wrestle. Soooo cute. We had five golden retrievers around for the weekend.

Abby is 9 months old and just a big sweetie. Look at that face!

Me, Tina and Kathleen take the dogs for a walk. The dogs are Ronan, Josie and Pepper. I took two of them for a run during this walk, as well, and again I was totally holding them back.

More of the beach view. The tide was out so we had a a wide beach to walk on.

Ronan and me. We ended up with just one car for 7 people, 5 dogs, 3 pots of spaghetti and 4 bags of groceries. Somehow we all fit in.

Another view of the very full car. The dogs were estatic to have people's laps to sit in while driving.

The road to the beach one morning.

Me in my new Kennebunkport sweatshirt with a puppy on my lap.

LIFE IS GOOD.
