Office Art

So I am just over a week into my new job and I am finding the need to "nest" and make my office feel like *me*. I came with two pictures. The first I bought when I got my last job in HR at the APA: I love this picture. It makes me giggle every time I see it. Plus I swear Otto has made this face before. Definately when I made him wear silver garland at Christmas (well he wanted to help...). The next picture was a gift from my friend Paula. We left the APA at the same time and she was going to a job that had her seated in a cubicle and not an office so there was no place for her art anymore. This one is just a poster, no frame, but I just love it. We bought it when we saw the Cezanne exhibit at the National Gallery a year or two ago:
If only I had a Mary Poppins type ability to step right into a picture--I'd surely step into this one. The next picture I just ordered. I have a pretty large wall between two windows in my new office and the wall needed some spicing up. I also wanted something with some red in it to brighten the room. Here is what I decided on:
It's called "Enlightenment" and it's by an artist named Ivo. I love that you cannot tell if the Buddha is male or female, and you can't make out the face. It leaves the impression that anyone could be this Buddha. Especially if you have the giant ears this Buddha has..........like I do :).

In January we took a trip to Vegas to celebrate Greg's 30th birthday. It was the first trip to Vegas for us both.
I love the creativity of the Casinos. Here is New York, New York

Case in point, inside they had a NY city street, complete with manhole covers with steam coming out.

This is the Luxor, were we and 3 other couple stayed. I hear you can see that light from space at night!

The Paris.

The lions at the MGM.

The beautiful glass ceiling at the Bellagio

The gang in the Bellagio

No trip to Vegas is complete without viewing the fountain at the Bellagio

Heather got her foot stuck in a popcorn container after leaving the Cirque show "Love"

Greg relaxed in the hot tub one day. It was like 40 degrees out and no one else in the hotel dared to join him.

Rick, Greg and Brooke. Brooke was also celebrating his 30th birthday.

I have no words.

Debbie's lucky streak.

Whew, just in time the mummy dies!
